KU

Ok, I'm a Cornhusker.  But last night I was rooting for KU to win. (Sadly, they didn't.)  This post will be quite short because I haven't had my coffee yet. heh

Here are my KU nails for the game last night. Orly Ma Cherie (the red) and Revlon Royal (the blue), dotted with China Glaze Happy Go Lucky (the yellow).

FUN!

Stay Tuned.

No new nails since Saturday. We had a birthday dinner on Monday and last night is my weekly bowling night. (Wii bowling that is.)  A few friends and I get together every Tuesday and bowl a few games and have an awesome time.  We have been doing this for over 2 years now. Even when I feel too tired to go, I remind myself that A) This is the time I get to see these two every week; and B) I always have such a good time.

So, tonight the Mr. and I are going to settle in with some awesome home-cooked Mexican food (I'm thinking nachos, yum) and finally watch Sunday's nights Mad Men season premiere and I will paint my nails. As of right now I am in the mood for a pale pink. That could change by tonight though.  Stay tuned.

Difficult but pretty!

Today's post is a flakie post!  The base color for this mani is Sinful Colors Last Chance. A gorgeous dark green.  Over that, I did one layer of Sinful Colors Green Ocean. This, while beautiful, is a kind a pain the wazoo to apply.  The formula is really chunky and I am going to see if i can thin it down a bit. I appreciate that it is flakie heavy, but personally I'd rather apply two thinner coats than this goopy stuff.  All in all, then end result is very cool.  See??

One Of My New Favorite Manis

I ended up painting my nails with a green for St. Patrick's Day.  Why? I have no idea. Really, it was just another Saturday to us.  We went to lunch with my mom, step-dad, and a couple of my friends. We laughed for probably 2 hours straight. It was such a good time. My husband and I scooted over to Papa Murphy's to pick up a take and bake pizza for dinner later, Bacon Cheeseburger flavor (I have been craving one for at least a week). It was so delicious.  After we ate, I painted my nails and took a nap.  Then we watched a couple movies.  This is how Saturdays (holiday or no) should be spent!

Back to the nails.... I painted (as always, Orly Bonder and 2 coats of Instant Artificials as the base) 2 coats of Orly Lucky Duck, topped with one coat of Valentino from Pretty & Polished (Etsy, she makes amazing frankens), followed by a coat of Seche Vite. Speaking of Pretty & Polished I bought another bottle of hers last night, Hello Dolly, and I am pretty excited for it.  It is very similar to Valentino but has extra color glitters in it.  You will definitely be seeing a photo of that later in the week as it has already shipped.

So, here are my pretties (excuse the ouchy cuticle on my middle finger, I just caught it on an accordian file at work this morning. Ow.)

Early St. Patrick's Day Nails

Crappy cell phone picture is crappy.

To be honest, I don't give a hoot about celebrating St. Patrick's Day. I do, however, like to paint my nails.  I decided last night to get a jump start on wearing green.  I decided to wear China Glaze, Gaga For Green on most of my fingers. Secret Peri-wink-le on my ring fingers. I topped them off with a layer of Fairy Dust. I've had Fairy Dust for a few months now but last night was the first time I tried it out. Wow, it is awesome.  I wish you could tell from the photo the shimmery rainbows dancing on my fingers.

The colors unfortunately in this photo are a little bright. The green in real life is more...think summer green and the periwinkle is indeed periwinkle.

I really need to take pictures with my actual camera one of these nights.

I'm Here, I Promise!

I really was debating not continuing with my blogging. I have been fighting some Winter issues and it just plain sucks. I have been painting my nails gorgeous colors this week but haven't felt like uploading the photos.  I will get better about that, I promise.  For today's nails- I'm wearing (as always Instant Artificials and Orly Bonder as a base) 2 coats of Orly Green Apple, 2 coats of Pretty & Polished (Etsy), topped with a layer of Seche Vite top coat.

STUNNING.

Nubbin To See Here Folks

My poor index fingernail. It broke the other night and it looks horrendous in dark polishes. I wore my new Revlon Scandalous on Saturday after it broke and it looked so bad!  I noticed before I painted my nails on Saturday though that my thumbnail had a crack below the nail line, too. Ugh, I just broke that nail not too long ago. At least it is already somewhat short. I patched it up with some toilet paper and nail glue and I hope to get a few more days before it actually breaks, it it actually does. What a pain, (literally sometimes).

I didn't snap a picture of the Revlon Scandalous on Saturday. Sorry!  You can google it, apparently it used to be called Revlon Facets of Fuchsia if that helps for reference. I will be wearing it again but not very soon. It was a glittery nightmare trying to get that off of my nails and then off of my skin after that.

I really wanted to wear my Nfu Oh 65 that I just received on Friday but it probably would have looked bad, too- especially on my thumb nail with the slightly uneven glue/tissue patch.

Last night I decided to go with one of my all-time favorites: Orly Prince Charming.
